There's a common feeling shared by those of us who've managed to still live comfortably while we feel the heartbeat of our country slowing daily...while we watch the rotting corpse of our infrastructure disintegrate...while we shudder in pain as the lifeblood our country (good ol' American owned and operated small business) is pulsing towards deep system failure..and that feeling is...at least we're safe from the high crime rate of the lower income areas...at least we're safe...right? Shootings...stabbings...robberies...rape... That couldn't happen to me, right?

Well, right now you're probably slipping ever closer to your very own lower income area as I write this...perhaps your job is "temporary"...or "part-time"...or perhaps you kill yourself to "live" comfortably in this circling the drain economy by working several "temporary" "part-time" jobs...but not a career, mind you...like the bankers scarfing up your house...or charging you a fee to access your money...or the politicians whose coffers are filled by defense contractors while they beat the drum of war...

No, no, no, you're not like those guys...because those guys make the rules...and you...well...I hate to break it to you...but you're a follower...not a leader..what's that? Oh I see. You live your own life. You decide which rules to follow and which to not....except for this...one ...little...troubling... fact: the rules are being changed again and it don't look so good for you...not at all.

Every year the United States Congress authorizes the defense budget via a NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act.  2012's NDAA allows the U.S. Armed Forces to operate on U.S. soil....suspending due process...suspending habeus corpus...and detaining any person "deemed" a terrorist for as long as they see fit....perhaps a Saudi national...perhaps a U.S. protester...you know...those people who are awake enough to realize their innate human rights are being violated...yeah those people...

So what does this have to do with crime...and lower income areas? Well...welcome to the neighborhood...your lower income neighborhood that is...you're living in it right now
All the creeping malaise associated with poverty is now within a stone's throw of most of you...all those vices associated with being poor...and disenfranchised...are soon to be part of your life experience...and it won't be the local cops kicking in your door...you see, the middle class is a fairly large group...and, why...with all that pesky education there's bound to be some resistance....better call in the Army to take care of you and your kind...

And that's who you're gonna be taking orders from...if you manage to survive the chaos...because YOU'VE LET THEM MAKE ALL THE RULES...

Follower!....
